Wie jedes Jahr im Juni ist Reisen angesagt, um meinen Geburtstag nicht in Moskau feiern zu müssen. Olga meinte Mauritius wäre doch ganz nett, denn es gibt Flüge direkt von Moskau über Dubai. Nachdem wir in Le Morne das Les Pavillion Hotel gefunden hatten, dass uns beiden gut gefiel, wurde kurzfristig gebucht.

Es war schon ein besonderes Erlebnis, die Fußball-WM auf der Insel zu erleben, wo an jeder Ecke sportbegeisterte Einheimische und Touristen die Spiele verfolgten, auch wenn es mit dem Pokal für das deutsche Team mal wieder nicht geklappt hat. Naja dafür hatten wir einen wirklich tollen Urlaub!

Und so ganz nebenbei, konnte ich mir einen langgehegten Wunsch erfüllen - ein wirklich maßstabsgetreues Schiffsmodell das nach den alten Bauplänen als Einzelanfertigung für mich gebaut wird. Mauritius gilt unter Kennern als das Land der besten Schiffsmodellbauer. Nachdem ich eine Firma ausfindig machen konnte, die weltweit für Museen Schiffsmodelle nach exakten historischen Vorgaben fertig, war mein Entschluss gefasst und mein Modell bestellt. Mauritius (June 2010)

As every year in June, we like to travel so we do not have to celebrate my birthday in Moscow. Since Olga thought Maurititus could be a nice location and since flights from Moscow via Dubai are convinient. After we had found a nice hotel -The Les Pavillion in Le Morne - the trip was booked.

It was for sure a special experience to see the soccer world championship on the island, where at each corner sport-enthusiastic locals and tourists were watching the games. Even though, the German team again didn't win the cup, we had spend an incredible great vacation!

As a positive side effect, I was able to fullfil me a long time desire - to get me a truly masterpiece build to scratch shipsmodel manufactured by use of the original ships plans. Mauritius is known among experts as the place where the best ship models are made. After I had located a company, which is producing historical ships models for worldwide museums, my desicion was made and my personal model was ordered.
